Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Statlign collects, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, how long it is kept, and the rights you can exercise over it. It applies to statlign.com and every subdomain we operate.
Who we are and what we collect
Statlign is an independent sports intelligence publisher. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site, and you can reach our privacy contact at privacy@statlign.com.
We collect account data you provide directly — email address, authentication identifiers, display preferences and language — together with usage data generated as you browse: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring source. Members additionally have a credit balance and purchase history. We do not collect payment card numbers; card data is handled by our payment processor and never reaches our servers.
How we use data and our legal bases
Data is used to operate the service (delivering predictions, maintaining sessions, applying credit balances), to keep it secure (detecting abuse, rate-limiting, fraud prevention), to understand aggregate usage so we can improve coverage, and to deliver advertising that funds free access.
Under the GDPR our legal bases are: performance of a contract for account and credit functions; legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention and aggregate analytics; consent for advertising, advertising cookies and non-essential analytics; and legal obligation for financial and tax records. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential cookies keep you signed in, remember your language and store your cookie choice; these are always active because the site cannot function without them. Analytics and advertising storage are denied by default and only activate if you accept them in the cookie notice.
When accepted, we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager for aggregate measurement, Google AdSense for advertising, and a social advertising pixel for campaign measurement. Rejecting these prevents the tags from loading rather than merely hiding their output. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
For California residents, the sharing of advertising identifiers with advertising partners may constitute a sale or share under the CCPA. Rejecting advertising cookies is our opt-out mechanism, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Processors, transfers, retention and security
We share data only with processors who help operate the service: our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our payment processor, and the analytics and advertising providers named above. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data to data brokers.
Some processors operate outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard.
Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, except records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes. Security and verification logs are anonymised or removed on a defined retention schedule. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to staff who need it, and row-level access rules restrict what any single account can read.
Your rights and how to exercise them
You may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, portability in a machine-readable format, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Write to privacy@statlign.com from the address on your account. We acknowledge requests quickly and respond within one month. If you are unhappy with the outcome you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Statlign is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and any such data found will be deleted. This policy may change as the service evolves; the modification date at the top of the page always reflects the current version.
