Player Form, Availability & Prediction Impact

Players change matches, but not equally and not in every market. These pages explain how a specific player's goal involvement, defensive contribution and availability feed into a fixture's selection, and how much weight each of those inputs actually carries.

Why player weighting is not a rating

A missing striker who takes a third of a side's shots matters far more to a goals market than to a match-result market. Rather than a single player score, our model weights an absence by what that player contributes — goal involvement, chance creation, defensive actions — and applies it to the markets that contribution touches.

That is why the same injury can move an over-goals line noticeably while leaving the match-result reading almost unchanged.

Availability, rotation and late news

Confirmed absences are treated as facts; rumoured ones are not used at all. Rotation risk in congested weeks is handled as uncertainty, which widens confidence bands rather than flipping a selection.

Late team news is the single most common reason a same-day selection is revised, and when that happens the written reasoning is rewritten to say so.

What these pages are not

They are not a fantasy-football tool and not a transfer rumour feed. Player data exists here for one reason: to explain part of a match prediction.

Statistics shown carry a source label and a confidence weight, the same as every other figure on the site, so an estimate is never presented as a verified provider number.

Frequently asked questions

Do player injuries change published predictions?

Yes. A confirmed absence for a high-involvement player can change the selected market or the confidence score, and the written reasoning is updated to explain it.

Where does player data come from?

From provider feeds and verified match data, each value labelled with its source and confidence weight. Unverified rumours are not used.
